我国是世界上最早发现茶树和利用茶树的国家。在我国古代文献中称颂茶树为“南方之嘉木”。古代史料中茶的名称很多,“茶”字的演变与确定,也从一个侧面告诉人们,茶的祖国是中国。中国的茶文化及饮茶习俗在汉、唐、宋代就已向中国周边地区辐射,明清以后更传至欧美,产生巨大的影响。这些都证明我国是tea and tea culture's origin, China is the homeland of tea.
