铁观音:外形条索蜷曲,呈青蒂绿腹蜻蜓头状,色泽鲜润,砂绿显红点明,有白霜覆盖。传统铁观音散发出天然兰花香、栀子花香或桂花香,其香气高爽持久而清幽细长。汤色淡绿如丝绸般光滑,无红边的嫩叶底部。

本山:外形条索尚肥壮且紧结,呈熟透的香蕉皮色,有乌润和“竹子节”特征。其叶梗红亮且细瘦整齐,尾部稍大。

内质:汤色橙黄或清澈,对味清纯略带浓厚,与铁观音相似但更为清淡。

叶底:色泽黄绿,上面有隆起,主脉略细浮着白毛。
